Welcome to FF Logs!

This series of articles will help you get familiar with the website and all its features, including how to start logging in-game, how to upload your logs, and how to browse through them. The process is very simple, but make sure you follow every step.

Account Setup

To upload logs to the site, you will need to create an account.

Once you've signed up, we verify the account using an activation email. If you can't see the email, check your spam folder.

Follow these steps to import your characters into FF Logs.

1. Go to the Import Lodestone Characters and Free Companies section in your profile settings. Here, you will find a code sequence. Copy this code.
2. Navigate to the Final Fantasy XIV Lodestone website and log in.
3. Select the character you wish to import and go to its Character Profile.
4. Scroll down to the Edit button and click it. Paste the code sequence you copied from FF Logs and click confirm and post.
5. Go back to your character profile and copy that URL.
6. Go back to Import Lodestone Characters and Free Companies and paste your character profile URL. Click Import.

Advanced Combat Tracker (ACT)

In order to begin gathering logs to upload, you will need a program called ACT. This program will gather log data for you.

Uploading Logs

Log Uploader Clients

In order to upload logs to the website, you need to use a client application. We have two options, either the FF Logs Uploader or the Overwolf Companion app. The Companion app supports Final Fantasy and Warcraft Logs.

The FF Logs Uploader is a simpler version requiring less setup. Read more about the Uploader in our help article.

In order to upload logs to the website, you'll need to download the Archon App.

The Companion app is more in-depth and offers more features, such as an in-game overlay. Read more about the Companion app here.

Uploading to the Website

There are two ways to log. The first option is to upload the entire log file after you are done with the content you wish to upload. The second way is what we call live logging. When you live log, the client monitors the log file and uploads any new fights instantly to the website.

When you upload logs, you have two choices of where they go. Every user gets a personal log space, where you can always upload. The second option is to your specific guild's logs. When you do this, everyone in the guild will be able to see the logs. This is a shared space for every guild member.

FAQ

Is FF Logs Safe?

FF Logs simply takes raw combat log data and organizes it into a neat, visual format to allow you to analyze your performance. Processing your data this way is perfectly safe!

I turned logging on and am hitting a target dummy, but nothing is being uploaded! What gives?

Outside of raids, the combat log file is only written to when a certain number of events have been generated. This means it can be very slow to update if you are just doing solo content out in the world.
