This article outlines how Warcraft Logs determines specs for parses in Classic Fresh TBC.

Generally, specializations in TBC on Warcraft Logs are determined by which talent tree the character has the majority of talent points in. There is no information in the log file about which specific talents are taken.

There are a few additional specs supported beyond talent trees in-game. For TBC, this is Dreamstate Druid, Justicar Paladin, and Gladiator/Champion Warrior.

Hunter, Mage, Rogue, Priest, Shaman, and Warlock specializations only require the majority of talent points in their respective talent trees.

This article will also outline all the tank detection requirements for TBC Fresh Anniversary.

Druid

Balance Druid

This requires a majority of talent points in the

tree and doing more damage than healing.

Dreamstate Druid

is a

(majority talent points in Balance) that does more healing than damage.

Restoration Druid

This requires a majority of talent points in the

tree.

Guardian Druid

is the main tank role for Druids. It requires a majority of talent points in the Feral talent tree and having passed the tank requirements.

Feral Druid

is the cat/DPS role specialization for druids with a majority of the talent points in the Feral talent tree. If you fail the tank requirements with a majority of talent points in the Feral tree, you will be assigned

Paladin

For Paladins,

and

require a majority of talent points in their respective talent trees.

Protection Paladin

is the tank specialization for Paladins. It requires majority talent points in the Protection tree and having passed the tank requirements.

Justicar Paladin

is used for Paladins with a majority of talent points in the Protection tree, but failed the tank requirements.

Warrior

For

require the majority of talent points in their respective talent trees.

Protection Warrior

is one of the tank specializations for

. It requires a majority of talent points in the

talent tree and having passed the tank requirements.

Gladiator Warrior

is the non-tank role for

. It requires a majority of talent points in the Protection tree and having failed the tank requirements.

Champion Warrior

is the tank role for Arms/Fury Warriors. It requires a majority of talent points in either the

or the

tree, and having passed the tank requirements.

Tank Requirements

Default Requirements

At least 10 seconds spent in your tank stance (Defensive Stance, Bear Form, Righteous Fury)
Take the most melees from bosses, or at least 50% of that number (minimum 5)
- For Warrior/Druid: Only melees taken while in Defensive Stance/Bear Form count for the requirement.
- The "most melees" number counts all melees, not just those in stance.
For Warrior/Druid: At least 90% of melees taken from bosses must be taken in Defensive Stance/Bear Form.
- This only cares about your melees taken, not anyone else's.
For Paladin: If you take the most melees from bosses, or at least 70% of that number (minimum 5), Righteous Fury detection is not required.
- This is to work around issues with Righteous Fury logging.

Overrides

We will also likely require individual boss overrides, and they will be noted here as they are implemented.

Gruul the Dragon Killer

Satisfy the default requirement, or
Take the most Hurtful Strikes (including dodges/parries)
- For Warrior/Druid: only Hurtful Strikes taken in Defensive Stance/Bear Form count for this requirement.
- For Warrior/Druid: At least 90% of Hurtful Strikes must be taken with Defensive Stance/Bear Form active.

Shade of Aran

Satisfy the default requirement, or
Take the most Frostbolt/Fireball hits from the boss, or at least 50% of that number (minimum 5), or
- For Warrior/Druid: only hits while in Defensive Stance/Bear Form count for the requirement.
Spend at least 70% of the fight with Defensive Stance/Bear Form/Righteous Fury active
- Note that Righteous Fury does not appear in the log unless it is activated during the fight!
