Cataclysm on Warcraft Logs

The first Cataclysm raids release today, and we're excited to go into another Classic expansion with you all. This article goes through some of the main questions surrounding this new expansion and raid tier.

Combined Zone

We've combined all the raids into one 'zone' for us for technical reasons. This allows us to have everything on one tile on the front page, character pages, statistics, and more.

Front Page

The front page tile will be split in two, with both 10m and 25m Heroic showing. Statistics and rankings links default to 25m.

Read the full progress rules in the Progress Rules article. These rules are mostly based on community input and to prevent multiple raid groups from getting a combined best rank. One group needs to clear all bosses to count.

Race to World First

We are planning on enabling our Race to World First tools for the ICC race. This means there will be a front page tile and a progress tracker (with nice images of each boss) to keep you updated on the guilds that live log. More information is also enabled if the guilds have Competition Mode enabled.

This will show their raid composition, pull count, best %, and the damage done/damage taken/healing done graph for each fight.

Note: This will likely only work for 25m difficulty!

Parsing Rules

Read the full parsing rules in the Parsing Rules article. This goes through the various rules, banned items, and the adds excluded from bosses in Throne of the Four Winds, Blackwing Descent, and Bastion of Twilight on Warcraft Logs rankings.

Speedrun Rules

Speedrun rules are not yet decided. Please join us on Discord to discuss the trash requirements and rules for each raid.

Spec Detection

All specs in Cataclysm are decided from the talents you pick, with the only exception being Guardian Druid.

You can find the suggestions for our Guardian detection in this spreadsheet. The proposed Warden requirements for Magmaw, Maloriak, Nefarian, Cho'gall and Al'Akir are included in the Guardian requirements as we don't support Warden.

There are a lot of externals in Cataclysm, and we've decided to continue the externals cap for Power Infusion and Unholy Frenzy. This means you can only get Power Infusion and Unholy Frenzy from the equivalent of one priest/dk. The number of externals received cannot exceed the number that could be given to one individual by one player. However, you may receive each buff from more than one player, so long as the number of buffs you receive remains under the cap.

Tricks of the Trade is normalized and attributed to an NPC, this means no one gains the damage buff.

Thorns damage is attributed back to the casting druid.
