Trial of the Crusader Boss Parsing Rules

This article will go through the various rules, banned items, and adds excluded from bosses in Trial of the Crusader on Warcraft Logs rankings.

Boss Changes

This should outline all the boss changes. Please also join us on Discord to suggest updates.

The Northrend Beasts

• Downtime is removed between P1->P2 intermission, and P2->P3 intermission. Damage done to e.g. Snobolds during this time still counts towards your parse, only the time is removed.

Lord Jaraxxus

• There are no changes on this boss.
• Spellstealing is allowed.

Faction Champions

• This fight is removed from ASP (All Star Points), Character Pages, Complete Raid (Boss Fight DPS), etc.

Twin Val'kyr

• Empowered Darkness and Empowered Light damage bonuses are normalized.

Anub'arak

• Healing done in P3 does not count towards ranks/parses.
• Damage done to Swarm Scarabs is removed.
• Damage done to Nerubian Burrowers is capped at 600k damage.

Onyxia's Lair

There are no rules for Onyxia parsing.

Complete Raid

Complete Raid on Warcraft Logs means doing the full raid in one go. This has a clear starting point (pull of Northrend Beasts) and ends when the last boss, Anub'arak, is killed.

Doing a Complete Raid rewards you with Complete Raid parses. This includes Speed parses for Guilds and Boss Fight DPS parses for personal parses.

Boss Fight DPS

This is the parse for all boss encounter DPS combined, only counting kills. This requires you to do the full raid in one raid day.

Boss and Trash DPS

There is no trash in ToC, so we will not have any Boss/Trash DPS ranks.

Downtime Removal

We have historically removed the downtime on some fights to not punish shorter kill times. Examples such as Mimiron intermissions, and Razorscale Phase 1, had downtime removed.

In ToC this is implemented on the intermissions between the Northrend Beast phases.

Buffs

Externals Cap

On Retail, we've added an Externals Cap. This is also implemented for Power Infusion in Classic.

This means you will only be able to get Power Infusion from the equivalent of one priest. The number of externals received cannot exceed the number which could be given to one individual by one partner. However, you may receive each buff from more than one player, so long as the number of buffs you receive remains under the cap.

Any parses that break these restrictions will not be ranked.

World Buffs

A majority of world buffs, such as:

• Arcane Focus
• Zeal
• Might of Malygos
• Fury of Ragnaros
• Flame of the Seer
• Arcane Might
• Dark Whispers
• Blessing of Blackfathom
• Soul Revival

and more are banned.

Battle Squawk / Battle Chicken

Battle Squawk from Battle Chicken is banned. This buff will invalidate your boss parse and complete raid parse.

Fishliver Oil, Light of Elune, and More

We will be stricter on one-time use items such as Fishliver Oil and other quest items. These items are banned for parsing, but they are fine to use for progress guild ranks.

Life Tap

Excessively life tapping to pad healing parses will invalidate your kill.
