ICC Boss Parsing Rules

This article will go through the various rules, banned items, and adds excluded from bosses in Icecrown Citadel on Warcraft Logs rankings.

Boss Changes

This should outline all the boss changes. Please also join us on Discord to suggest updates.

Lord Marrowgar

No rules, all damage counts.

Lady Deathwhisper

Damage done to Cult Fanatic and Cult Adherent is excluded, except for Tanks.

Gunship Battle

Removed from character pages, ASP (Damage, Healing, Speed), and Complete Raid (Time will still count for complete raid).

Deathbringer Saurfang

No rules, all damage counts.

Festergut

Gastric Bloat damage buff is normalized on non-tank specs.

Rotface

Damage done to Little Ooze, Big Ooze, Sticky Ooze is removed.

Professor Putricide

No rules, all damage counts. (Mutated Abomination won't count as a pet of the player)

Blood Council

Overkill is excluded by default.

Damage done to Kinetic Bomb and Dark Nucleus is removed.

Blood-Queen Lana'thel

Essence of the Blood Queen damage increase is normalized.

As we can't normalize this damage increase on a Complete Raid level, Blood-Queen Lana'thel is also removed from Complete Raid.

Valithria Dreamwalker

Removed from character pages, Complete Raid, and Overall Damage Statistics.

Using Unholy Frenzy on the Valithria herself will invalidate all the parses.

Sindragosa

Damage done to Ice Tombs is removed.

Sindragosa is removed from All Star Points and from Complete Raid (Boss Fight DPS and Boss+Trash DPS).

The Lich King

Fight time after Fury of Frostmourne cast is turned into downtime.

Damage done to Vile Spirits, Wicked Spirits, and Drudge Ghouls is excluded. Damage done to Shambling Horrors is excluded except for tanks.

On Heroic difficulty, damage done to Val'kyr Shadowguard is excluded after they reach 50% HP or first cast Life Siphon.

Complete Raid

Complete Raid on Warcraft Logs means doing the full raid in one go. This has a clear starting point (pull of Lord Marrowgar) and ends when the last boss, The Lich King, is killed.

Doing a Complete Raid rewards you with Complete Raid parses. This includes Speed parses for Guilds and Boss Fight DPS parses for personal parses.

Boss Fight DPS

This is the parse for all boss encounter DPS combined, only counting kills. This requires you to do the full raid in one raid day.

In ICC, we have special-cased Blood-Queen Lana'thel to not be included, as this is a significant outlier in terms of overall DPS. Gunship and Valithria Dreamwalker are also excluded.

Boss and Trash DPS

This is the DPS parse for all boss + trash encounters combined, counting everything. This requires you to do the full raid in one raid day. Everything (unless explicitly said so above) is included for overall boss/trash, even excluded adds, and downtime is not factored in.

In ICC, we have special-cased Blood-Queen Lana'thel to not be included, as this is a significant outlier in terms of overall DPS. Gunship and Valithria Dreamwalker are also excluded.

Downtime Removal

We have historically removed the downtime on some fights to not punish shorter kill times. Examples such as Mimiron intermissions, and Razorscale Phase 1, had downtime removed.

In ICC, this is implemented on the last 10% of The Lich King fight.

Buffs

Externals Cap

On Retail, we've added an Externals Cap. This is also implemented for Power Infusion in Classic.

This means you will only be able to get Power Infusion from the equivalent of one priest. The number of externals received cannot exceed the number which could be given to one individual by one partner. However, you may receive each buff from more than one player, so long as the number of buffs you receive remains under the cap.

Any parses that break these restrictions will not be ranked.

World Buffs

A majority of world buffs, such as:

and more are banned.

Battle Squawk / Battle Chicken

Battle Squawk from Battle Chicken is banned. This buff will invalidate your boss parse and complete raid parse.

Fishliver Oil, Light of Elune, and More

We will be stricter on one-time use items such as Fishliver Oil and other quest items. These items are banned for parsing, but they are fine to use for progress guild ranks.

Life Tap

Excessively life tapping to pad healing parses will invalidate your kill.
